01 / Who we are
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Creative Innovation Design Joint Lab at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design investigates how emerging technologies can create more meaningful, immersive and responsive environments.
Our work brings together artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, multi-sensory feedback and spatial design. We treat technology not as an isolated tool, but as a material for shaping experience and opening new forms of participation.
Across education, cultural creativity, architecture and game-based interaction, the lab moves between critical research and project implementation—turning ideas into environments that can be entered, tested and shared.
Core Principles

Human–environment interaction
We study how environments sense, respond and adapt—and how people understand themselves through those exchanges.
Spatial storytelling
We use space as a narrative medium, transforming research, heritage and imagination into experiences that unfold around the body.
