Every piece of furniture is made in one year and used across many more. Each work in the exhibition therefore carries two dates: the year it was produced and a future year in which it might be used.
Year 3 students from the School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University developed the works, with local production coordinated through the Hong Kong Furniture & Decoration Trade Association. Visitors are invited to touch and sit on the furniture while considering who might use it, and what Hong Kong might become around it.
The exhibition is organised by PolyU Design and presented with furniture and venue partners as part of DESIGN@HKG.
