Starting with a promising idea, each team developed its game mechanics, spatial interactions and narrative experience into a presentable XR game prototype.
The Workshop
This hands-on workshop was created for future game makers. It focused on the heart of game design: ideas, gameplay and experience. Students explored virtual reality first-hand and worked in teams to turn their concepts into VR game prototypes.
The workshop welcomed students who love games, are curious about VR, AR and MR, or want to understand user experience and game design. Learning began with core loops, challenges and rewards before moving into VR interactions such as grabbing, throwing, spatial puzzles and comfortable locomotion.

Featured Student Project
A Republican-era Chinese horror mystery game
Players take the role of an investigator in Republican-era China and enter an abandoned mansion to reopen a forgotten case. Scene investigation drives the experience, while a sanity meter, clue inventory and mirror world give each decision weight.
Core Gameplay
Players search the mansion for clues and connect the evidence. Supernatural encounters alter the sanity meter, affecting both audiovisual feedback and the pressure behind each decision. The inventory organises key objects into a reviewable network, while mirrors become portals to an alternate space.

Another team assembled, programmed and demonstrated a smart car. As the group did not submit a complete project file, this section documents their collaboration and hands-on process through photographs.
Final Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, students had organised their prototype, design rationale and presentation materials into a portfolio-ready project entry.
